Mais, 1960, c’est aussi l’année où le tsunami « rock and roll » déferle sur la France.
Et, à Port-Lyautey, avec la base américaine, on est bien placé. Avant même qu’ils n’arrivent au Golf Drouot, cher à notre trio des Vieilles Canailles, les standards du rock américain sont dans les bacs de notre disquaire local, via un trafic efficace avec les GI’s de la base.
Elvis bien sûr, mais aussi Chuck Berry, Eddy Cochran, Bill Haley, Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, Gene Vincent, …
Et, dans la foulée, The Platters, Paul Anka, Harry Belafonte, The Everly Brothers, The Kingston Trio, Brenda Lee, Peggy Lee, Dean Martin, Yma Sumac et autres.
Et enfin les « tubes » des boums de mon frère Marc : le When des Kalin Twins, le Tequila des Champs, le Charlie Brown des Coasters, le Little Darlin’ des Diamonds, le Personality de Lloyd Price
